Morningside of Fullerton is seeking a full-time Plant Operations Director to oversee campus care, maintenance, and transportation, and to hire, train, and supervise all plant personnel.

You will coordinate life safety, landscaping, and procurement, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance while leading a dedicated team.

This role requires 24/7 availability for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with construction and subcontractors.
• 7–10 years in plant engineering and trades.
• 5 years budgeting accountability.
• 5 years mid-level management experience.
• Knowledge of state & federal regulations including Title 22 and NFPA 101.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication.
• Passion for excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Hires, educates, coaches maintenance and transportation staff.
• Oversees performance and resident satisfaction in the department.
• On-call 24/7 and respond to emergencies.
• Supervises landscaping, maintenance, and safety staff.
• Delegates tasks to ensure smooth materials flow.
• Sets maintenance schedules for equipment and buildings.
• Maintains emergency equipment and power systems.
• Oversees painting and refurbishing efforts.
• Maintains fire and life safety equipment; advises Executive Director.
• Manages department budget within guidelines.
• Complies with regulatory agencies including DSS, CDPH, OSHA, CMS.
• Monitors Infection Control guidelines.
• Maintains inventory reports quarterly.
• Oversees Community Capital projects.
