Job summary

JTEKT Bearings North America in Sylvania, GA is seeking a Plant Metallurgist/Supplier Quality to analyze metal strength and performance, select alloys, and support customer specifications across production lines.

The role supports the quality department, addresses supplier and internal issues, conducts 8D analyses, oversees incoming materials, and helps plan and coordinate QA programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years in quality/metallurgy is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in heat treating or related metallurgical work.
• Experience with ISO/IATF 16949 quality systems preferred.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Directs the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system.
• Oversees health, safety, environmental standards.
• Investigates customer complaints and ensures corrective action.
• Oversees metallurgical lab testing and procedures.
• Supports supplier quality and PPAP/PCN processes.
• Leads internal quality audits.
• Trains staff on gauging techniques.
