Job summary

JMJ Phillip Group is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations in Manchester, CT. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while overseeing unionized teams and ensuring OSHA compliance.

The role requires 10+ years of manufacturing leadership with P&L responsibility, strong financial acumen, and a track record of implementing continuous improvement. You will develop leaders, manage budgets, and partner cross-functionally to meet strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership with P&L responsibility.
• Experience managing unionized employees in manufacturing settings.
• Experience with batch production or WIP processes.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
• Monitor production processes, work-in-progress, and batch manufacturing activities.
• Identify operational challenges and implement effective corrective actions.
• Lead and develop manufacturing supervisors, managers, and plant personnel.
• Maintain effective relationships with union representatives and employees.
• Support workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and labor relations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.
• Evaluate opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing goals and business objectives.
