Job summary

Reading Truck Group seeks a Plant Manager to lead the complete manufacturing process, driving safety, quality, delivery and cost targets. You will develop action plans to meet KPI/CI goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement across a large facility in Reading, PA.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field and 10 years' experience, with LEAN principles and P&L management experience in manufacturing. Strong leadership and collaboration with sales are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Ten years of related job experience required, preferably in automotive/manufacturing industries.
• Experience implementing LEAN principles in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in large/matrixed manufacturing environments managing profit & loss with revenues > $50MM.

Responsibilities

• Direct the complete manufacturing process at the facility while leading a continuous improvement culture in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale.
• Lead development of action plans to meet KPI and CI goals.
• Create and sustain a visual workplace with team improvement boards, value stream board, and scheduling boards.
• Model Leader Standard Work (LSW) and drive its implementation across the value stream.
• Engage, train, and coach employees to meet customer and financial goals.
• Foster a culture of engaged employees focused on business growth.
• Direct all operations to build and ship standard body orders.
• Collaborate with other leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Maintain cadence with sales to understand and deliver on customer needs.
• Monitor customer/market trends to align designs, lead times, and quality.
