Meijer Inc. in Middlebury, IN seeks a Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of manufacturing ready‑to‑eat products. Lead production, quality, safety and labor management while directing budgets, schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role is onsite Monday-Friday with on-call expectations and requires strong leadership and operational excellence. Coordinate with procurement, maintenance and quality control to optimize resources and productivity, drive cost controls and ensure product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8-10 years of progressive management in food manufacturing.
• Experience leading a team of salaried staff.

Responsibilities

• Confer with executive management to establish production and quality standards, develop budgets, and obtain data on products ordered.
• Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control for optimal resources.
• Review production, quality, maintenance, and operations reports to identify nonconformities and remediate issues.
• Revise production schedules and priorities after equipment failure or operatin g problems.
• Consult with engineering on machine modifications to improve production and quality.
• Define and direct plant policies within Meijer manufacturing guidelines.
• Own short and long-term objectives: safety, cost reduction, quality, new product integration.
• Analyze structure, staffing and resources to meet facility goals cost-effectively.
• Develop plans to ensure appropriate production volumes for each product.
• Manage all salaried staff, including HR, Production Managers, EH&S, and Quality.

Our Plant Manager will lead the team manufacturing ready to eat products in Middlebury IN plants. Overseeing all aspects of operations including leadership, strategy, business development while also responsible for outcomes regarding quality, safety, productivity and labor management.Position is onsite Monday-Friday with on call expectations.What You'll be Doing:Confer with executive management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develops budgets and cost controls and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered.Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.Revise production schedules and priorities resulting from equipment failure or operating problems.Consult with engineering personnel relative to machine modifications and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.Define and direct the administration of plant policies within the framework and intent of Meijer manufacturing policies.Responsible for short and long term operating objectives such as profit & loss, safety, cost reduction, quality improvement, and new product integration.Analyze organizational structure, staffing and resources to cost-effectively and efficiently meet facility goals.Develop and implement plans to assure achievement of appropriate volume of production for each product processed.Manage all salaried staff and functions including Human Resources, Production Managers and Supervisors, Environmental Health and Safety, Quality, etc.What You Bring with You (Qualifications):Bachelor’s degree required.8-10 years of experience with progressive management in food manufacturing environment.8-10 years of experience managing and leading a team.
