POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for safety, quality, efficiency, and the overall success of the operations team at the Medford, Wisconsin facility. The Plant Manager must work closely with all departments to effectively plan, schedule, and safely coordinate operations to organizational standards. In this role, you will lead all functional departments to achieve results within customer and regulatory guidelines. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  1. Oversee all aspects of daily operations putting a strong emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.

  4. Assume responsibility for the operational performance of the facility and drive continuous improvement activity at the facility.
  5. Prioritize food safety, people safety, and quality above everything else.
  6. Lead the organization, execution, and documentation of plant trials.
  7. Actively communicate to employees the plans for the day and for future happenings.
  8. Be present and available to employees in the factory across all shifts.
  9. Develop strategic plans which will drive key metrics and performance.
  10. Interpret, embrace, and enforce company policies and procedures.
  11. Mentor and develop members of the supervisor team and foster an environment where they can grow.
  12. Actively confront underperformance or behavioral issues in ways that are consistent with the company’s core values.
  13. Set and communicate clear expectations for the team and hold team members accountable.
  14. Work with Business Development and Customer Service to schedule orders in the most efficient manner while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
  15. Possess a deep knowledge of operations, product flow, and SOPs. Utilize this knowledge to teach and coach employees towards continuous improvement.
  16. Use critical thinking skills and root cause analysis to continuously improve process flow and overall efficiency.
  17. Ensure staffing resources are being utilized effectively and consistently.
  18. Work closely with maintenance to coordinate preventative maintenance activity, facilitate timely repairs, and conduct downtime analysis.
  19. Partner with Engineering on projects and new equipment installations.
  20. Work weekends as part of the operations team rotation.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or commensurate experience required.
  2. 10+ years of previous supervisor or management experience.
  3. Ability to lead a diverse team of support and professional staff.
  4. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
  5. Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations is key, with food manufacturing preferred.
  6. Strong attention to detail with effective critical thinking skills.
  7. Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  8. Strong problem-solving ability to make logical and well-thought-out decisions.
