Job summary

WARREN OIL COMPANY, INC. seeks a seasoned plant operations leader to direct day-to-day manufacturing, compounding, filling, blending and packaging in a fast-paced facility, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in chemistry, logistics or a concentration in lean manufacturing
  • A minimum of ten years of experience managing a manufacturing facility
  • Five years liquid and compounding experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of supply chain activities for manufacturing operations
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills across facility and company personnel
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Commitment to flexible production scheduling to meet demands
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and standards
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Process improvement experience (LEAN/ TPM/ 5S or Six Sigma)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day to day operations of compounding, filling, blending and packaging activities
  • Manage up to 300 personnel including supervisory, laboratory, production, blending and maintenance teams
  • Monitor and manage all supply chain activity of inbound and outbound materials using systems like JDE or SAP
  • Manage raw materials inventory ordering, tracking and production work orders
  • Account for finished product inventories and warehousing operations
  • Oversee rail trucking and barge transportation with third party transporters
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance for production, storage and equipment
  • Develop preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Ensure maintenance and security of buildings
  • Manage capital expenditure and operating P&L for facilities
  • Maintain safety, environmental health and regulatory compliance programs
  • Develop systems to track productivity, assets and performance targets
  • Implement operating strategies aligned with corporate initiatives
  • Ensure accounting, budgeting and admin activities are performed by plant personnel

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day to day operations of , compounding, filling, blending and packaging activities in a fast paced environment
  • Responsible for the overall management for up to 300 personnel including supervisory, laboratory, production, blending and maintenance team members
  • Monitors and manages all supply chain activity of inbound and outbound materials used in production activities using technologies such as JDE, SAP, or similar programs
  • Management of the raw materials inventory ordering, tracking, and production work order process for all commodity and other materials used in the production process and in forecasting/scheduling in facilities
  • Account for all finished product inventories and warehousing operations
  • Oversee the rail trucking and barge transportation activities and working with third party transporters
  • Coordinate and manage the maintenance activity for all aspects of the production, storage, and operating equipment
  • Develop and maintain a proactive approach to minimizing equipment downtime through effective production scheduling and preventive maintenance programs
  • Responsible for maintenance and security of all buildings
  • Manage all facility production equipment, establish CapEx needs, develop and manage using the facility operating profit and loss
  • Maintain a strong commitment to and implementation of quality environmental health and safety programs to ensure workplace safety and compliance with all regulatory standards
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Implement plant and other operating strategies that are in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Ensure that all required accounting, budgeting, and other administrative activity is being performed and managed by plant personnel
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, production management, business management, chemistry or other related field
  • Process improvement methodology experience preferred; such as LEAN, TPM, 5S or Six Sigma
