Job summary

Buzzi Unicem USA is a leading cement producer seeking an experienced Plant General Manager to oversee all manufacturing functions, drive capital projects, and lead a safe, high-performance team.

The role requires a BS in a related field, 10+ years of management, and a proven ability to balance production, maintenance, and customer needs while championing change and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS in related technical field or business field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of management experience in an industry-related field.
• Experience in diverse functional roles and the ability to work independently.
• Strong leadership skills under pressure and a willingness to champion change.
• Ability to manage and balance plant-wide production and maintenance needs.
• Strong customer focus for internal and external customers.
• Excellent oral and written communication; analytical and creative thinking balance.

Responsibilities

• Direct all manufacturing functions including production, engineering, mining, maintenance and administrative functions.
• Plan for capital improvements and projects.
• Establish effective employee relations to ensure the availability of a well-trained and motivated work force.
• Maintain a safe working environment with a heavy focus on MSHA.
• Develop subordinates, direct, train, supervise, schedule and overall management of the operation.
• Regularly interface with sales, marketing and customer service to ensure customers’ needs are met.
• Responsible for maintaining production rates to best utilize equipment and labor while managing costs.
• Oversee planning and execution to ensure long term goals and objectives are met.
• Has involvement with other special projects as assigned.
