Job summary

Sharon Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Plant Manager in Niles, OH to lead overall plant operations and drive safety, lean manufacturing, productivity and cost initiatives.

You will collaborate with HR, Safety, Finance, Sales and Maintenance to ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality manufacturing while improving yields and output. This is a full‑time, onsite role centered in Niles, OH.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years leading manufacturing operations or equivalent.
• Experience building high-performing teams with safety, quality and cost focus.
• Working knowledge of ISO standards and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, compliant operations and drive safety culture.
• Develop monthly operating plans and identify risks, opportunities, and improvements.
• Build a performance-based culture with accountability and metrics.
• Provide clear direction and cross-functional alignment with HR, Safety, Finance, Sales and Maintenance.
• Review daily reports to resolve issues, reduce costs and prevent delays.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead lean initiatives and optimize production systems and processes.
• Hire, coach, and develop employees to sustain high morale and strong labour relations.
• Delegate effectively while upholding safety, quality and company procedures.

About the Role

As a Plant Manager at Sharon Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a critical role in leading overall plant operations to achieve financial objectives while driving continuous improvement across safety, lean manufacturing, productivity, quality, and cost initiatives. This position requires strong operational leadership, strategic planning, and people‑development skills, and offers the opportunity to directly impact manufacturing performance, employee engagement and business growth. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners including HR, Safety, Finance, Sales and Maintenance, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality manufacturing operations while improving yields and output. This is a full‑time, onsite role located in Niles, OH. This role is ideal for a results‑driven manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values accountability and metrics and leads with a strong safety and continuous‑improvement mindset.

What You’ll Do

• Leads and promotes safe work practices in compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
• Develops and executes operating plans for current and upcoming months, proactively identifying risk, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
• Builds a performance‑based culture focused on accountability, safety, metrics and operational excellence.
• Provides clear organisational direction and communication aligned with corporate goals, objectives and vision across all plant departments.
• Reviews daily operating reports to resolve manufacturing, maintenance and operational issues whilst minimising cost and preventing delays.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to resolve day‑to‑day issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Formulates and implements production policies and programmes impacting scheduling, quality, cost and efficiency.
• Leads new manufacturing initiatives by applying lean principles, optimising resources and improving production systems and processes.
• Hires, coaches, develops and evaluates employees to ensure strong leadership, high morale, teamwork and positive labour relations.
• Delegates work effectively whilst ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and company procedures.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, with proven success building and leading high‑performing teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or a technical field preferred
• Strong labour relations experience preferred
• Working knowledge of ISO standards
• Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organisation
• Results‑driven, entrepreneurial leader with the ability to make sound decisions with urgency
• High ethical standards and a commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence
