Job summary

Alliance Fleet is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee operations at our Mooresville, NC facility. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will drive production, quality, safety, and financial performance while ensuring vehicles are upfitted to client specs on time and within budget.

You will lead a cross-functional team, optimize schedules, manage suppliers, and foster a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in operations or general management within automotive, fleet services, or vehicle upfitting industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees production workflow, scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management.
  • Leads staffing decisions with Technician Team Leads and promotes safety and accountability.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality specifications.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors, suppliers, fleet managers, and commercial clients.
  • Drives continuous improvement and cost control through team engagement and performance feedback.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Plant Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of business operations within the facility. This includes production management, workforce leadership, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. The PM ensures that vehicles are upfitted to client specifications on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Collaborates with engineering and procurement to align on project requirements.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations including production workflow, scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management.
  • Works with Technician Team Leads to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Delegates work and ensures accuracy, efficiency, productivity and task completion on a day-to-day basis.
  • Monitors production schedules and workflows, troubleshoots, and resolves any operational issues.
  • Ensures all projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality specifications.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, fleet managers, and commercial clients.
  • Maintains quality control processes to ensure work meets company and industry standards.
  • Promotes high levels of customer satisfaction and handles escalated issues effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety requirements.
Team Management and Development
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development to staff while promoting a high-performance, customer-oriented culture.
  • Cultivates a collaborative and respectful work environment that values open communication and teamwork.
  • Promotes accountability and drives continuous improvement through team engagement and performance feedback.
  • Addresses performance issues through proactive conversations, support measures, and disciplinary action when applicable.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews, recognizing accomplishments and identifying opportunities for growth. Supports ongoing training and professional development efforts.
  • Participates in the recruitment and interview process, ensuring a positive candidate experience by representing the company professionally and addressing candidate inquiries.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in operations or general management, preferably within the automotive, fleet services, or vehicle upfitting industry.
  • Strong understanding of the industry, vehicle upfitting processes, tools, materials, and best practices.
  • A strategic mindset to drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Ability to handle unexpected challenges and quickly find solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in business software tools (Microsoft Office, ERP systems)
Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Compensation

Paid Weekly.

Schedule

May involve extended hours depending on business needs. Monday through Friday.
