Job summary

Alleguard, Inc. in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimize all manufacturing processes. You will oversee daily plant operations, ensure safety, quality, and productivity, and develop processes to maximize efficiency.

You will lead lean initiatives, manage budgets with the Director of Manufacturing, and guide supervisory staff. The role demands hands-on leadership in a fast-growing facility and a focus on environmental and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in supervisory/plant management in manufacturing.
• Experience directing molding operations.
• Lean manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall facility performance and implement improvement plans.
• Direct and coordinate facility operations per policies.
• Provide leadership, training, and support to staff.
• Prepare operational budget with the Director; analyze capacity and resources.
• Lead Continuous Improvement using Lean tools and support certifications.
• Manage daily production, scheduling, maintenance, and supervision.
• Ensure Environmental and Safety policies are followed.
• Comply with environmental and safety programs.
• Promote customer requirements and quality system compliance.
• Ensure legal environmental and safety compliance.
• Provide resources to establish and maintain the IMS.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of a Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The Plant Manager must possess the key skills to develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall performance of the facility. Reviews and evaluates the financial and manufacturing performance establishing improvement plans when required.
• Direct and coordinate facility operations within established company policies and procedures.
• Provides direction, evaluation, motivation, training, and support to the facility management, supervisory and administrative staff.
• In conjunction with the Director of Manufacturing, responsible for the preparation of the operational budget for the facility including capital expenditures; analyzes the capacity of the plant identifying resources needed to achieve the targeted performance
• Lead and support Continuous Improvement using Lean principles and tools. Supports and/or implements systems and practices under the Company’s certifications (IATF-16949, ISO-9001. ISO14000, etc.).
• Responsible for the overall daily production and manufacturing activities, scheduling, processes, maintenance, and supervision of production personnel.
• Ensure that the Environmental and Safety policies are followed.
• Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
• Promote the fulfillment and awareness of customer requirements, of quality system requirements, and all relevant state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements in Environmental and Safety aspects.
• Compliance with legal, environmental, and safety requirements of the area
• Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control
• Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities
• Provide the necessary resources to establish, implement and maintain the IMS
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or relevant field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or plant management position in a manufacturing environment. (Additional experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the Director of Manufacturing).
• Experience in directing molding operations
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement practices
