Job summary

AZZ Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager for our Kennedale facility. You will report to the Regional Director of Operations and oversee production, maintenance, quality, and personnel, driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

You are a strong leader with a proven track record of mentoring leaders, implementing business strategies, and delivering outstanding service to stakeholders. This role requires a hands-on manager committed to safety, efficiency, and employee development.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of management experience.
• Experience in steel fabrication, metal coatings, or hot dip galvanizing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SOPs for heavy industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving, and all personnel activities.
• Develops and controls profits/budgets and business plans.
• Implements cost-effective systems for control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
• Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards with strict process controls.
• Maintains and updates plant facilities and equipment, making replacements or adjustments as needed.
• Provides leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
• Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintains OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Recommends measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, quality or efficiency.
• Recommends personnel actions including evaluations, promotions, hiring and firing.

Job Description

AZZ has an opportunity for a Plant Manager at our Kennedale facility. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, this role is responsible for, but not limited to, directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, and personnel. You are a strong leader with a track record of effectively managing, mentoring, and developing leaders. You are experienced in developing and implementing business strategies and can deliver outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs and manages plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving and all personnel activities.
• Develops and controls profits/loss, business plans and budget restrictions.
• Implements cost effective systems for control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
• Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards while maintaining strict process controls.
• Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment. Replaces or adjusts plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
• Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
• Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintains and enforces OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Recommends or implements measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
• Recommends personnel action including, but not limited to, annual evaluations, promotions, hiring and firing.
• Responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Serves as the primary direct report for all facility personnel.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of management experience required
• Experience in steel fabrication, metal coatings, or hot dip galvanizing preferred
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively handle and manage confidential and sensitive information
• Knowledge of safety and OSHA rules and regulations required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SOPs for heavy industrial equipment
• Bachelor's Degree required
