Job summary

Job description

Operational Leadership & Strategic Management
  • Manage all personnel-related activities across the plant, leading a team of functional managers to achieve weekly performance, throughput, cost, and revenue targets.
  • Manage full facility P&L. Plan and administer department budgets; make critical, forward-looking decisions on tooling, direct/indirect labor, and capital expenditures to ensure plant profitability.
  • Participate in formulating facility and company policies, developing short- and long-range strategic goals that align asset performance with divisional growth and market opportunities.
  • Build leadership depth and operational resiliency at every level of the business, instilling a culture of team accountability and discipline.
Manufacturing & Process Engineering Oversight
  • Provide senior engineering leadership and oversight to manufacturing, process, industrial, automation, and quality engineering teams.
  • Direct process engineering initiatives involving design, optimization, validation, qualification, and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems.
  • Review and approve engineering standards, process specifications, validation protocols, manufacturing procedures, and technical operating requirements using advanced engineering judgment.
  • Continuously evaluate and assess new material, equipment, and manufacturing technologies to enable improved efficiencies, capability, and operational reliability.
Quality Engineering & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive a robust continuous improvement culture throughout the organization utilizing statistical tools and formal methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, Lean).
  • Lead quality engineering initiatives, including statistical process control (SPC) systems, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, reliability engineering, and process capability analysis to exceed yield targets.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Business Development
  • Provide engineering and operational leadership for NPI programs to ensure manufacturability, process capability, quality performance, and market readiness.
  • Coordinate between plant functional groups, program management, and PCB division management to ensure major customer proposals are prepared accurately. Optimize for design technology, customer demand, costs, factory capacity, mix, and optimal load to win new business.
  • Direct the product/service contract management process, driving accurate forecasts, competitive pricing, successful negotiations, and scope recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with corporate engineering/design teams, customers, suppliers, and technical personnel regarding product manufacturability, technical roadmap alignment, and technology implementation.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships from functional staff up to executive levels through stellar performance, securing profitable recurring business and identifying opportunities for expansion.
Job Qualifications
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Business Administration with a heavy technical focus, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering (MSE) or Business Administration (MBA) is a strong plus.
Experience & Skills
  • Management History: 10 to 15+ years of progressive, demonstrated success in similarly sized or larger manufacturing facilities, with a strong background as an Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, or related technical leadership role.
  • Industry Background: Extensive experience in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry, with specific exposure to advanced electronic, optical, telecommunications, substrate fabrication, or materials processing. Deep knowledge of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Systems & Analytics Expertise: "Hands-on" manager with solid experience and knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, capacity planning, and NPI protocols. Proven ability to analyze manufacturing performance and forecast data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Possesses the presence and charisma to build confidence and influence stakeholders across the organization—from operators to the CEO level.
  • Execution Style: A flexible work style that moves fluidly from strategy to tactics; able to balance short-term operational targets with long-term strategic objectives while maintaining high integrity in a fast-paced environment.
