Job summary

Athens Services is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician in Irwindale, CA to maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. You will troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, and inspect components, with responsibilities including welding, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on MRF equipment.

Qualifications include 3 years in production maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, fabrication knowledge, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in maintenance & repair in production style environment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Fabrication knowledge (Mig/Tig/Arc/Oxy Acetylene/brazing etc.)
• Sufficient working knowledge regarding plant component repairs and replacements.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues safely and timely.
• OSHA safety compliance is required.
• Must possess personal tools.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Observe mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoot problems.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
• Inspect parts to verify dimensional changes with calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust functional parts and instruments using hand/power tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts and report issues to supervisors.
• Perform preventative plant maintenance and general inspections.
• Welding and cutting as needed to maintain equipment.
• Maintain and clean MRF equipment including conveyors and pulleys.
