Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to keep our concrete plants running smoothly. You’ll handle diverse maintenance tasks, inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Welding skills are a plus, and safety is a priority as you work with plant leaders to keep uptime high. We offer home-daily schedules, opportunities for growth, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and retirement

Qualifications

  • Hands-on maintenance experience in plant, industrial, or manufacturing settings.
  • Experience in a concrete plant is a big plus.
  • Skilled in electrical work, plumbing, and welding.
  • Strong problem solving under pressure.
  • Safety-focused and knowledgeable about plant safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment across various systems.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify issues before they cause breakdowns.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to keep production moving.
  • Repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly.
  • Fabricate or repair plant components using welding skills.
  • Prioritize fixes with plant leaders to maintain uptime.
  • Keep detailed maintenance records and parts usage.
  • Stay updated on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborate with external experts when specialized skills are needed.
  • Address hazards and take corrective action to keep the plant safe.
  • Be ready to assist anywhere needed to keep operations running.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
  • Keep our plant running strong by handling a wide range of maintenance tasks—no two days are ever the same.
  • Inspect equipment and systems regularly to spot issues before they become problems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to help avoid breakdowns and keep production moving.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they come up, using your skills and resourcefulness to get us back on track fast.
  • Put your welding know-how to work fabricating, repairing, or reinforcing plant equipment and structures.
  • Work closely with plant leaders to prioritize what needs fixing first, always with an eye on what keeps the plant running best.
  • Keep clear records of your work—what you fixed, what parts you used, and how long it took—so we always know our plant’s maintenance history.
  • Stay sharp by learning new techniques and keeping up with the latest safety protocols.
  • Team up with outside experts when a job calls for specialized skills.
  • Help keep the plant safe by spotting hazards and taking action to correct them.
  • Jump in wherever you’re needed—because at SRM, everyone pitches in to get the job done.
What Sets You Apart
  • Hands‑on experience in plant, industrial, or manufacturing maintenance. Experience in a concrete plant is a big plus.
  • Skilled in electrical work, plumbing, and welding—certifications are great, but a can‑do attitude goes a long way.
  • Quick‑thinking problem solver who can tackle tough repairs under pressure.
  • Strong communicator who works well both solo and as part of a team.
  • Committed to safety and familiar with plant safety rules and regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a vocational degree is a bonus.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfortable operating plant machinery.
  • Willing to complete SRM’s pre‑employment screenings.
  • Ready to step up for emergency repairs—even if it means nights or weekends.
