Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic I in North Carolina to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, inspect machinery for maintenance needs, and assist with installation, alignment, and testing of plant equipment, while adhering to safety procedures and maintaining records.

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment to support safe and efficient operations
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime
• Inspect machinery and identify maintenance needs before they affect production
• Assist with the installation, alignment, and testing of plant equipment and components
• Follow safety procedures and maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
