Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Plant Healthcare Technician for on-site outdoor work across multiple locations. You will perform fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools, while communicating with clients about diagnoses and prescribed treatments.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy outdoor work and physical activity.
• Background in horticulture or landscaping is preferred.
• Knowledge of turf, weeds, trees and shrubs is preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey landscape career development books on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Valid driver’s license required; licensure may be state-specific.
• Preferred: pesticide-related licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Perform fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools.
• Identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungi, and pest-prone areas.
• Educate clients about diagnosis and prescribed pest control and fertilization services.
• Carry out prescribed fertilization and integrated pest management on landscapes.
• Monitor methods after application and report progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive and operate truck and sprayer equipment safely.

Pay range $22-$28 per hour depending on experience

Position Overview

Performs fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Properly identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest prone areas.
• Communicate with and educate the client regarding the diagnosis and the prescribed pest control, and fertilization service with customers.
• Perform the prescribed fertilization and integrated pest management on tree and shrubs using spray and injection tools.
• Continuously monitor the pest control and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate truck and sprayer equipment.

Qualifications
