Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Wixom, MI is seeking a Plant Health Care Technician to perform fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns. You will diagnose pests, communicate treatment plans to clients, and monitor plant health to ensure quality results.

You’ll operate and maintain equipment, work on-site, and contribute to an employee-owned company that values safety, training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping preferred.
• Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID, Pathology and turf/tree physiology knowledge preferred.
• Complete Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Tech training upon hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Relevant pesticide licenses/certificates preferred if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungus conditions and pest prone areas.
• Communicate diagnosis and prescribed pest control and fertilization services to customers.
• Monitor plant health quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, operate, maintain and properly operate equipment (truck and sprayer).
