Job summary

Piscataqua Landscaping is seeking a Plant Health Care Technician to join our Tree and Plant Health Care Division. You will manage the health of clients’ landscapes, trees, and shrubs on residential and commercial properties while delivering top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, pesticide applications, and maintaining detailed records. A valid NH/ME pesticide license, DOT card, and insurable driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Maintains consistent attendance and safe work habits.
• Operates and maintains spray equipment and calibrates it for applications.
• Keeps detailed daily records of clients visited, pesticides used, and quantities.
• Maintains daily records for internal and state reporting.
• Identifies trees and shrubs in New England landscapes and recognizes tree insects/diseases.
• Decides whether to apply a control after inspecting plant material.
• Mixes pesticides and applies using various sprayers.
• Outfits spray vehicles with required materials and fills water as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients about treatments and expectations.
• Operates an air spade and uses related equipment.
• Comfortable learning and using cloud-based software.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to service residential and commercial properties and provide high-quality customer service.
• Maintain equipment and adhere to safety standards during pesticide applications.
• Document visits, chemicals used, and quantities for records and regulatory compliance.
• Identify target trees and shrubs and diagnose pest/disease issues on-site.
• Apply pesticides and calibrate spray equipment as required.
• Coordinate with clients and explain treatment plans and results.

Description

We are seeking a Plant Health Care enthusiast, who is looking to join our Tree and Plant Health Care Division!

The Plant Health Care Technician is responsible for managing the overall health of clients' landscape, trees and shrubs. They will be working with a team of skilled individuals, as they maintain beautiful residential and commercial properties while providing top notch customer service to our clients.

Requirements

• Maintains a consistent and positive attendance pattern.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and productive manner.
• Tracks and records information, including but not limited to clients visited, pesticides used, and quantity used.
• Maintains daily records for both in house purposes and as required by the State(s).
• Understands the spray equipment, how to operate it properly and be able to make basic repairs.
• Be able to identify trees and shrubs in New England landscapes.
• Be able to identify tree insects and diseases.
• Determines whether a control is necessary and what control is appropriate after inspecting plant material.
• Mixes pesticides and calibrates equipment.
• Applies pesticides, including but not limited to the use of hydraulic sprayers, backpack sprayers, backpack misters (foggers), and granular applications.
• Outfits the spray vehicle(s) with appropriate materials, includes filling water into tanks.
• Communicates effectively with clients.
• Operates an air spade, which includes the use of an air compressor.
• Must be comfortable with technology and willing to learn cloud-based software programs

Certificates & Licenses

• Pesticide applicator licenses in ME and NH in the appropriate categories
• DOT Medical card
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
