Job summary

AKA Tree Service is seeking a Tree Groundsperson / Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician for full-time, year-round work in Hermitage, TN. The role focuses on PHC services such as fertilization, pest and disease management, soil treatments, and health inspections, with occasional ground support for tree crews.

Ideal candidates have PHC experience, knowledge of tree health, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. A valid driver's license is required; CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous Plant Health Care experience is required.
• Knowledge of tree and shrub identification, pests, diseases, and treatment methods.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

• Perform Plant Health Care services including fertilization and pest management for trees and shrubs.
• Identify common pests, diseases, and environmental stressors affecting trees and shrubs.
• Apply PHC treatments safely and according to guidelines.
• Maintain accurate treatment and service records.
• Assist tree crews with ground operations and safety.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment.
