Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Marion, NC seeks a General Manager to lead overall facility operations, drive safety, quality, and cost objectives, and execute the business strategy. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or management discipline with 5–7 years’ experience in operations and manufacturing management.
• Minimum 5–7 years’ printing experience.
• Proven track record of achieving production, quality and cost objectives while maintaining a safe environment for line manufacturing employees.
• Superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong planning and budgeting skills.
• Superior leadership and managerial skills to build collaborative relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive management style; creative and innovative in processes and systems.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Radius manufacturing/financial systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains manufacturing policies, materials usage, safety, and KPIs.
• Identifies and optimizes plant processes and organizational structure.
• Leads by example with focus on customer service and safety.
• Develops and manages the facility budget and labor.
• Ensures production targets and on-time delivery.
• Mentors leadership team and fosters employee development.
• Communicates across the plant to support teamwork and engagement.
• Collaborates with Sales and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Drives Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
