Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Amana, Iowa, seeks a Manager of Finance Operations (Plant Controller) to lead plant finance teams, strengthen internal controls, and partner with operations to drive cost-out initiatives.

You will own month-end close, forecasts, budgets, and robust financial reporting, while mentoring staff and advancing World Class Manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing environment as an accountant or finance professional.
• CPA/CMA or MBA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end processes, monthly forecasts, and yearly plans.
• Develop and implement Internal Controls and ensure policy compliance.

This role is a great opportunity to be part of the leadership team in a manufacturing facility, driving overall strategy and operational excellence.## **Your responsibilities will include**The Plant Controller is responsible for the leadership and development of plant finance professionals and ensuring a robust internal control system that enables accurate and transparent communication of financial performance to operations and plant leadership. The plant controller is also responsible for leading the Cost Deployment Pillar within World Class Manufacturing (WCM) to identify losses within the plant and ensure appropriate resources are allocated to the largest opportunities to deliver on our operational excellence commitments. This position plays a key leadership role within Manufacturing Finance across our facilities in North America.* Guide, mentor and develop the organization's finance team in day-to-day financial activities.* Lead month-end processes, monthly forecasts and yearly plans. Deliver robust financial reporting.* Develop and implement Internal Controls, and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.* Drive operational performance through robust financial analysis, resource allocation decision and analysis, capital requisition and management.* Work cross-functionally to identify gaps and cost reduction opportunities. Partner with budget owners to elevate financial acumen and develop holistic budget strategies.* Serve as a liaison between engineering, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure robust and accurate product costing. Support new product development and introduction.* Drive continuous improvement in plant financial processes, standardization and compliance.* Manage plant budgets and drive accountability and transparency with operations.* Provide direction and guidance to manufacturing leadership and corporate finance functions.* Lead the Cost Deployment Pillar of Amana’s WCM leadership team.* A vital member of the Manufacturing Plant’s leadership team.## **Minimum requirements*** Bachelor’s degree* 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance* 2+ years of experience working for a Manufacturing company in an Accounting or Finance role## **Preferred skills and experiences*** CPA/CMA or MBA* People Management experience* Manufacturing experience, with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and cost accounting background* Ability to understand manufacturing operations* A strong analytical mind that helps see trends/patterns not obviously visible* Strong leadership skills that enable influencing a wide range of individuals within and outside the manufacturing operations* Ability to work cross-functionally to drive alignment that is in the best interest of the company* Excellent communications and presentation skills to present operating results to various leadership teams## **What we offer**Generous benefits package, Whirlpool employee discount, fitness & educational reimbursement programs, kitchenettes, and more!
