Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking an entry-level to early-career Project Engineer to manage plant expansion initiatives, coordinate complex manufacturing projects, and optimize floor operations.

You will translate engineering drawings into actionable workflows, track project timelines, and analyze floor data (costing, downtime, material waste) to drive efficiency. This role requires collaboration with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, heavy assembly, or industrial environment.
• Exposure to ERP systems (Oracle/SAP), CAD drafting software, Visio, and MS Excel/PowerPoint.
• Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, process optimization, and clear communication across floor operators and management.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Installations: serve as the hands-on project point for plant facility growth and coordinate vendor delivery.
• Milestone & Schedule Tracking: maintain master timelines using MS Project to align expansion goals and deliveries.
• Cross-functional Liaison: bridge communication between OEMs, suppliers, design engineers and plant management.
• Time Studies & Labor Costing: conduct cycle-time studies to feed costing data for labor and machine rates.
• Material Waste & Variance Analysis: track scrap, rework, and losses; perform root-cause investigations.
• Capacity & Downtime Tracking: monitor ERP/MES metrics and mitigate downtime drivers like setup delays.
• Quality & Compliance Oversight: ensure fabrication aligns with testing standards and client audits.
• Management Presentations: analyze floor metrics and prepare status visuals for leadership and clients.
• RFQs: review customer specs, scope requirements, feasibility, and estimated costs.
