Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a motivated professional to provide plant oversight for cost and engineering activities, ensuring efficient operations and compliance. Responsibilities include determining production quantities, testing safety and environmental plans, conducting improvement studies, and supporting maintenance and inventory control.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred; 0–2 years of construction materials processing experience; base

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent years of work experience
  • 0–2 years of construction materials processing experience desired
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Determine and calculate production quantities and communicate to management to ensure understanding of cost to produce
  • Prepare, implement and test SWPPPs and hazardous materials plans with Environmental Department to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Perform operational improvement studies and recommend modifications for efficiency
  • Conduct safety audits and meetings to ensure a safe working environment
  • Prepare and prioritize maintenance and repairs of material processing equipment to ensure cost-efficient maintenance schedules
  • Manage spare parts inventories for efficient repairs
  • Perform semi-annual inventory reconciliations
  • Support plant manager, foreman and superintendents as needed
