Zusammenfassung

Bachem Americas in Torrance, CA seeks a Plant Engineer to lead Technical Operations for the site, ensuring plant readiness, reliability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing facilities and infrastructure.

You will own maintenance planning, manage small- and medium-scale projects from idea to commissioning, supervise budgets and spare parts, and ensure GMP, safety, and energy-use compliance in collaboration with TechOps and Engineering.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or comparable discipline.
• 6+ years’ GMP-regulated environment experience.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and manage cross-functional interfaces.
• Extensive knowledge of design, construction, engineering, and maintenance of pharmaceutical plants.
• Analytical thinking, hands-on mentality, and strong communication skills.
• Maintain plant readiness while balancing cost efficiency under GMP/HSE requirements.
• Knowledge of maintenance strategy, planning, CMMS data, spare parts management, and budgeting.
• Experience managing small/medium engineering projects from concept to qualification.
• Knowledge of technical innovation, process/equipment standardization, and cost reduction.
• Very good German and English language skills (written and spoken).
• MS Office and digital collaboration tools experience.
• Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems; CMMS experience.

Aufgaben

• Economically and efficiently maintain operational readiness of the plant while meeting GMP/HSE requirements.
• Own maintenance strategy and planning for all production facilities at the site.
• Instruct, organize, implement, monitor maintenance activities; manage budgets and spare parts.
• Manage small and medium-sized projects from idea and cost estimate through commissioning.
• Ensure GMP, safety, environmental, and energy-use compliance; proper documentation.
• Serve as the first contact person for the site in all technical matters.
• Monitor ongoing projects and control budgets and schedules.
• Drive technical innovations with TechOps, Operational Excellence, and Engineering teams.
