## Plant Engineer - Construction Materials (Salem, KY)Apply: Paducah, Kentucky: Posted Today: R0000008092**Warren Paving**Warren Paving, a part of Granite, owns and operates one of the largest river-based limestone quarries in the country as well as 11 aggregate depots, three state-of-the art Astec asphalt plants, and a new sand and gravel facility. The company distributes aggregates throughout the region using its large fleet of barges. Our mission is to strategically grow and diversify through a focus on our people and customers; calculated development and control of services, and the ability to make timely decisions. Today, our multi-faceted company produces over 750,000 tons of asphalt, 3.5 million tons of limestone aggregate and 500,000 tons of rip rap. We currently operate 175 barges and have more than 300 employees in 15 locations.**General Summary**This position is responsible for providing plant oversight for cost and engineering activities that facilitate the efficient progress of plant operations and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.**Essential Job Accountabilities*** Support the quarry manager in the preparation of annual operating budgets.* Analyze and design capital improvement projects which add value to our operations.* Develop and analyze efficiency reports and facilitate solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.* Mine planning* Perform/ deliver tailgate safety meetings.* Continuously evaluate our rolling stock utilization and operational management.* Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, Environmental regulations, etc.* Monitor and oversee daily production and loadout test results to ensure that product specifications are met for all products we sell from our facilities.* Work with industry experts on issues which are critical to our business (committee work) as needed. **Education*** Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field required. **Work Experience*** Minimum of 5 years of construction materials field experience. **Knowledge, skills, and abilities*** Demonstrated knowledge of materials business.* Strong understanding of plant operations and mechanical requirements.* Strong understanding of federal, state and local laws, policies and procedures.* Strong public speaking and ability to communicate with management **Physical Demands**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
