Job summary

The Father's Table in Sanford, FL is seeking a Plant Engineer to lead capital engineering projects from design through startup, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, 5+ years of engineering leadership, and proficiency in AutoCAD and PLC programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related).
• Licensed PE preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering leadership in a food manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and draw electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proven experience leading large capital projects from concept through startup.
• Must be flexible for 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital engineering projects from design through commissioning ensuring safety, quality and efficiency.
• Oversee vendors and contractors to ensure timely project execution according to scope and budget.
• Monitor manufacturing performance and data to recommend improvement initiatives.
• Prepare project reports, progress reports, and capital requests to senior leadership.
• Provide daily engineering support to sustain and improve safety, food safety, quality, schedule attainment, yield, OEE, cost, engagement and order fulfillment.
• Maintain site technical drawings and ensure proper retention and control.
• Implement preventative maintenance solutions to sustain long term performance.
• Build strong working relationships with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality, Warehouse, R&D, HR, and site leadership.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Engineering.

Under the leadership of the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, the Plant Engineeris responsible for the development, execution and optimization of plant engineering systems and capital projects. The Plant Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the safety of our team members, food safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and delivery to the customer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related).
• Licensed PE preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering leadership in a food manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and draw electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proven experience leading large capital projects from concept thorough startup.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and make programming changes to AB Powerflex 525VFD, Contrologix, Compactlogix and Micrologix.
• Experienced with high-speed food processing and packaging equipment.
• Familiarity with sanitary systems, temperature control and HVAC systems.
• Experience supporting automation, modernization or large-scale capital improvement initiatives.
• Must maintain a high degree of availability for a 24/7 operation.
• Knowledge of safety, food safety, environmental and regulatory compliance standards.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills required.
