Here, you will find more than just a job—you will find purpose and pride.

Your role at Baxter

As the Plant Controller for our Medina, NY manufacturing facility, you will serve as the financial leader and trusted business partner for the site, effectively acting as the CFO of the plant’s end-to-end supply chain. Reporting directly to the ISC Finance Director and serving as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, you will provide financial oversight, strategic guidance, and operational support to help drive the plant’s performance and transformation initiatives.

This role supports a manufacturing operation with approximately $75M in annual production value, $30M in inventory, and a workforce of approximately 280 employees. You will play a critical role in ensuring financial compliance, delivering accurate and timely reporting, driving operational improvements, and influencing decisions that improve profitability, productivity, and cash flow. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on finance leader who enjoys working closely with operations, challenging the status quo, and helping shape the future of a manufacturing organization. This role is based onsite in Medina, NY.

What you’ll be doing
  • Serve as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, providing financial leadership and decision support across all aspects of the site’s operations.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the plant’s financial records, including profit and loss statements, balance sheet reporting, and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and Baxter policies.
  • Lead all plant financial planning activities, including annual budgets, long‑range plans, quarterly forecasts, weekly reporting, and month‑end close processes.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial performance, including insights into past results, current performance, and future expectations.
  • Drive accountability for key financial metrics, including manufacturing variances, operating income, cash flow, capital spending, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for financial and operational continuous improvement and develop action plans that support profitable growth.
  • Partner with FP&A, Global ISC, Business Services, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop the financial acumen of both finance and non‑finance team members through coaching, education, and ongoing business partnership.
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing finance, supply chain finance, or a related operational finance environment.
  • Strong background in standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, capital investment analysis, and financial controls.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change initiatives and driving continuous improvement within a manufacturing or operations setting.
  • Ability to influence business decisions and communicate effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in a complex, global, matrixed environment with the ability to lead through collaboration and indirect influence.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drive accountability.
  • Experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
Flexible Workplace Policy

We do so through our flexible workplace policy which includes a required minimum number of days a week onsite.
