Job summary

Bharat Forge Aluminum USA, Inc. is seeking a Plant Controller to lead accounting operations for our TN and NC facilities.

You will drive planning, analysis, and reporting to ensure strong financial integrity across plant activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly closes. You will partner with operations to monitor production costs, inventory levels, and cost-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and accounting roles within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct accounting operations across two entities; maintain financial integrity and compliance.
• Develop and manage annual budget, forecasts, and financial planning processes.
• Prepare accurate financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flows) per corporate policies.
• Conduct monthly close, variance analysis, and reporting MIS within close timelines.
• Analyze production costs, overhead, and expenses for cost optimization.
• Monitor inventory, production efficiency, and wastage with operations teams.
• Support external auditors and annual audit requests.

Description

The Plant Controller will report to the Bharat Forge USA CFO and will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of the two entities(PMT based in TN and Sanford ALU based in NC). The Plant Controller will play a crucial role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the financial integrity of our plant operations.

• Collaborate with plant management to develop and manage the annual budget, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
• Complete monthly reporting closing and MIS within monthly close timeframe and compare actuals to budget or forecasts.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze production costs, overhead, and operational expenses to identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on the status of ongoing cost saving assignments.
• Review cost center reports with the managers on a monthly basis.
• Work closely with the operations team to monitor inventory levels, production efficiency, and wastage, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Present financial data to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics to drive informed decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and maintain data integrity.
• Stay current with relevant accounting standards and regulations, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Maintain compliance on the filing of returns, including the tax returns.

Develop cash flow forecasts, monitoring cash levels and ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational requirements. Send the cash forecasts in advance to parent company for funding.

• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, assessing their financial impact on the plant's overall budget and cash flow against the benchmark returns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and finance, to streamline processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to finance and accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Knowledge of local tax laws is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
