Job summary

Silgan Dispensing is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as a key financial partner for our multi-site manufacturing operation in Grandview, Missouri. This role will lead plant-level accounting, controls, and reporting, turning financial data into actionable insights to improve performance and forecasting.

You will manage standard costs, variances, budgeting, cost- and margin-analysis, capital proposals, and internal controls, partnering with plant leadership and Corporate Finance to drive cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years in finance/accounting with at least 3 years in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.

Job description

Silgan Dispensing is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as a key financial and strategic partner for our multi-site manufacturing operation in Grandview, Missouri. This role will lead plant-level accounting and financial controls while providing the insight and analysis needed to improve operational performance, forecasting, cost discipline, and decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Lead plant accounting, financial reporting, and control processes across multiple sites.
• Ensure accurate reporting of standard costs, production variances, and key performance indicators.
• Improve monthly close processes, reconciliations, forecasting methods, and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with plant leadership and Corporate Finance to turn financial data into operational actions.
• Analyze yield, scrap, absorption, labor efficiency, throughput, and other key cost drivers.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, product costing, and margin analysis.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve margins across labor, materials, and overhead.
• Maintain strong internal controls and support internal and external audit requirements.
• Improve inventory accuracy, reserves, cycle counts, aging analysis, and working capital visibility.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals using ROI modeling and scenario analysis.
• Support long-term planning, ERP/data integrity improvements, automation, dashboards, and management reporting.
• Mentor finance and operations teams and promote transparency, accountability, and cross-functional partnership.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including at least 3 years in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to partner with operations and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience improving close processes, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) EnterpriseOne ERP, Excel, and business intelligence tools.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position in Grandview, Missouri, with regular presence on the plant floor.
