Job summary

NRG Energy, a leading energy company, seeks a Budget Analyst to support plant financial operations by developing budgets, forecasts and cost reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor assets and drive continuous improvement in planning and performance.

Responsibilities include budgeting, variance analysis, journal entries, and accruals, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. Strong SAP and Excel skills are essential for accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Business or related technical discipline, or comparable experience.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost reports in a plant/industrial setting.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors the Plant budget and cost forecasts with accuracy.
• Collaborates with Business Manager, Engineering and Project Managers on cost tracking.
• Performs monthly variance analysis and reconciles costs to budgets/forecasts.
• Prepares journal entries and accruals for monthly, quarterly and year-end closes.
• Supports safety, environmental compliance and regulatory standards.
