Job summary

The Crimson Group is seeking a Plant Board Operator for our Fort Stockton, TX facility. From the control room, you will monitor and optimize plant processes, respond to operating changes, and collaborate with field and maintenance teams to maximize production while upholding safety standards.

This role requires a minimum of 5 years in a gas processing environment, experience with DeltaV or similar DCS, and familiarity with CO2/cryo gas operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years in a gas processing control room or similar industrial setting.
• Experience with DeltaV or comparable DCS platform required.
• CO2 and cryogenic gas plant ops experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment and processes from the control room.
• Operate and troubleshoot DeltaV or similar DCS platforms.
• Maintain proper flow, temperature, pressure, and level readings; take corrective action as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues via SCADA/Ignition to keep operations safe and efficient.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance to plan repairs and prevent unplanned downtime.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of daily operations.

Plant Board Operator

As a Plant Board Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our Fort Stockton facility. From the control room, you'll monitor and optimize plant processes, respond to changing operating conditions, and work closely with field and maintenance teams to maximize production while maintaining the highest safety standards. What you will be Doing:

• Monitor and control plant equipment and processes through centralized control boards and computer systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot DeltaV or a similar Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Monitor plant operations, ensuring proper flows, temperatures, pressures, and levels while recognizing operating deviations and taking corrective action.
• Troubleshoot operational issues through the SCADA/Ignition system to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.
• Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and systems to identify potential issues.
• Recognize equipment abnormalities and coordinate significant repairs with the maintenance team.
• Work closely with field personnel to manage daily plant operations, including the disposal of up to 1,000,000 barrels of fluid per day.
• Maintain accurate operating logs, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with maintenance personnel.
• Analyze operational data and recommend process improvements to increase plant efficiency and reliability.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of control room/board operator experience in a gas processing or similar industrial environment.
• Experience operating DeltaV or a comparable DCS platform.
• Experience in CO₂ and cryogenic (Cryo) gas plant operations is strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently operate a complex control board with minimal supervision.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent technical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams.
• Working knowledge of plant operations, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.

Work Location & Schedule:

• Plant location: Fort Stockton, Texas.
• 7 days on / 7 days off rotating schedule.
• Rotation includes day and night shifts.
• Candidates must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to the Fort Stockton area.
