Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage the Newton plant's accounting functions under the Plant Controller and Director of Finance. The role leads monthly close, reports, and reconciliations, and partners on budgets and forecasts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/finance, manufacturing accounting experience, and strong GAAP knowledge. You will drive cost analyses and process improvements, with exposure to SAP and Power BI projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Manufacturing or plant accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing activities for the Newton plant with journal entries, reports and reconciliations.
• Support Plant Controller and Director of Finance in cycle counting, inventory processes, and monthly/annual forecasts.
• Lead analytics for income statement and balance sheet, assist on capital project business cases.
• Assist auditors during quarterly and annual audits and ensure SOX compliance.
