Job summary

Plastipak Packaging in East Longmeadow, MA seeks a Plant Accountant to partner with site leadership and safeguard financial health. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, costing, and reporting, ensuring timely, accurate data and adherence to policies.

You will manage inventory valuation, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable recommendations to improve P&L. You will act as a financial SME for the site and coordinate with Corporate Accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of costings, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, planning, costing, and reporting cycles for the site.
• Ensure the Plant's compliance with the Company's accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Plant Leadership to develop action plans to achieve targets.
• Control monthly physical inventory and valuation, and the perpetual inventory system.
• Research and report negative impacts to the P&L with improvement recommendations.
• Serve as site SME for financial matters and liaison between site and Corporate Accounting.
