Job summary

Sboc 7 is seeking a detail-oriented Plans Examiner to review and approve plans for construction projects in Schaumburg, Illinois. The ideal candidate should have an Associate’s degree in architecture or a related field, paired with at least five years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include verifying compliance with International Building Codes and working collaboratively with other professionals.

This role offers a competitive salary of $41.63–$60.36 per hour based on qualifications and experience, along with excellent benefits from day one of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in reading, interpreting, and/or designing drawings.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to obtain remaining ICC Certifications within two years.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve plans for compliance with building codes.
• Answer questions from homeowners and developers about permit requirements.
• Design address maps and update village property databases.
