Job summary

Meijer is hiring a Stocking Clerk in Illinois. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service through product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude.

This entry-level position involves a variety of retail tasks related to product placement, customer service, and merchandising. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, following planograms, and working early shifts 6AM-2:30PM with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn basic technology and systems.
• Able to follow processes in an organized, efficient way.
• Calm and productive in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player who supports shared goals.
• Pallet jack or forklift experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work 6AM-2:30PM. Hours may change based on business needs.
• Be available to work weekends.
• Reset aisles and arrange shelving to planogram.
• Stock shelves with a variety of food and grocery products.
• Move product from pallets or carts to correct shelf locations.
• Pull backstock and dispose of cardboard and trash in back areas.
• Work closely with leadership to complete areas on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Provide friendly, respectful interactions with customers.
• Work overnight shifts to prepare the store for the day ahead.
• Support other tasks to keep operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

As a Stocking Clerk, you play a critical role in keeping our store running smoothly. Your work ensures shelves are fully stocked for our customers to provide an exceptional shopping experience.

• Be available to work 6AM-2:30PM. Hours may change depending on business needs.
• Be available to work weekends.
• Reset aisles moving shelving and pegs to correct location following assigned planogram.
• Stock shelves with a variety of food and grocery products
• Move product from pallets or carts to the correct shelf locations efficiently and accurately
• Pull backstock and dispose of cardboard and trash in designated back‑room areas
• Work closely with leadership to ensure assigned areas are completed on time
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Provide friendly, respectful interactions with customers when needed
• Work overnight shifts to prepare the store for the day ahead
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly

What You Bring

• You're comfortable learning and using basic technology
• You follow processes and procedures in an organized, efficient way

• Experience with pallet jacks or forklifts is a plus
