Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field.
• Experience in local government planning, development plan review, or permitting processes preferred.
• CZO certification within City timeframe; AICP desirable.
• NC driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Review development proposals for compliance with land use, zoning and floodplain requirements.
• Prepare maps and materials for meetings using GIS.
• Review zoning permit applications and issue permits; prepare verification letters.
• Assist public, developers, and contractors with information and guidance in development reviews.
• Assist in preparing charts, maps, and presentation materials for committees and meetings.
• Coordinate sustainability and City-led initiatives and update department webpages.
