Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Oak Harbor, Ohio is seeking a maintenance professional to develop and oversee work packages for corrective and other activities at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. The role includes site walk-downs, permits, and coordinating support across groups to ensure timely completion.

Candidates should have a nuclear plant background, strong leadership and data-analysis skills, and proficiency with MAXIMO and MS Office. ERO duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5 years related field experience in mechanical maintenance or operations at a nuclear power plant.
• Ability to analyze complex technical data from manuals, drawings, schematics, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and time management skills.
• Proficient with MAXIMO and Microsoft Office applications.
• Nuclear plant experience preferred; must reside within sitewide ERO response time.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Developing maintenance work packages for corrective, deficient and other work activities, ensuring maintenance activity are performed in accordance with site procedures.

• Performing job walk-downs in all areas of Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station to validate correctness of scope, parts, clearances and work package preparation for the maintenance shop and contract maintenance.
• Initiating required permits, clearance requests for the scope of work and identifying support needs from other groups
• Providing work instructions and oversight to the field at a level of detail determined by the scope of work to ensure due dates and completion standards are met
• Performing emergency response organization (ERO) duties as assigned

Education, Experience, & Skills Required

• High school diploma or GED and 5 years related field experience in (Mechanical) Maintenance, or Operations at a nuclear power plant required. In lieu of experience a degree in engineering is required
• Ability to collect and analyze complex technical data from multiple sources (i.e. technical manuals, drawings, weld drawings, electrical and I&C schematics, procedures, and specifications)
• Strong leadership skills for planning, being self-directed and working with peers and others. Strong communications, interpersonal, customer service and time management skills.
• Proficient with MAXIMO, Microsoft Office Applications, including word, Excel and PowerPoint. Processing prior work experience of a nuclear plant and/or mechanical related work experience.
• Prior planning experience in a nuclear plant highly preferred
• Previous site experience preferred
• Must reside within sitewide ERO response time.
