Job summary

South Carolina Association of Counties seeks a Manager of Planning to lead the County’s comprehensive land use and neighborhood planning efforts, guiding growth and development. You will oversee sub-area plans, corridor studies, master plans, and text amendments, while reporting to the Director of Community Planning and Development.

The role includes directing the Planning Services Division, supervising staff, and coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure high-quality planning

Responsibilities

• Directs all programs of the Planning Services Division, Community Planning and Development Department.
• Develops goals and implementation strategies for projects and plans.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, policies and standards.
• Supervises staff, assigns work, reviews performance, and assists with staffing decisions.
• Manages annual budgets and coordinates resource allocation.
