Job summary

Erie County Planning & Community Development in Erie, PA is seeking a Planning Program Coordinator to assist with the coordination, administration and execution of planning activities across program areas such as Coastal Zone Management, Housing Rehabilitation and Land Use Planning.

The role reports to the Planning Program Administrator and involves analyzing data, coordinating with local, state and federal agencies, and supporting grant management and reporting to meet program requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of planning principles and practices; familiarity with the program area preferred.
• Ability to extract, organize, analyze and present data clearly in oral, written, and graphic form.
• High level competence with Microsoft software.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, staff of other agencies, public officials and the general public.
• Use good judgement and initiative.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's Degree in Planning or related field.
• Must have a Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assist Planning Program Administrator with researching, implementing planning programs and projects.
• Review grant funding requirements and coordinate with funding agencies as needed.
• Communicate with government officials and the public to support planning discussions and participation.
• Assist with closeout reporting and meeting other grant management requirements.
