The Metropolitan Council, serving the Minneapolis–St. Paul region, is seeking a Planning Analyst to lead as a senior individual contributor and project manager for the Housing Forward Cities initiative.
This role spans long-range planning, budget management, and coordination with local governments within a grant-funded program. Hybrid teleworking is eligible, with responsibilities including directing planning activities and collaborating with a small team to drive grant-funded housing policies

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.
The Community Development division is responsible for the Council's regional long-range planning efforts; planning and technical assistance to local governments; planning for and funding the regional parks and open space system; delivering rent assistance through the Metropolitan Housing and Redevelopment Authority; and delivering the Livable Communities Act grant programs.
This position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
The Planning Analyst is a senior-level individual contributor and project manager as part of a small, collaborative Housing Forward Cities project team managing the implementation of project activities and budget.
Housing Forward Cities is a grant-funded project to change long-term market conditions and break down policy and practice barriers to affordable housing, while advancing the goals of the Imagine 2050 regional development guide.
Salary Range: $95,804.80 - $155,396.80 Annually
