Job Description

We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities
  • Develops the production schedule and manufacturing plan based on program schedule, customer ask date, labor, and machine resource availability, and expected make/buy part availability lead time.
  • Proactively identifies schedule risks and constraints, and communicates status clearly and diplomatically to leadership across all levels before issues impact program milestones.
  • Maintains schedule baseline integrity and manages formal change control for schedule revisions in accordance with program requirements.
  • Manages production schedules for multiple programs.
  • Provides Production Control detailed information to ensure scheduled completion dates align with actual work center capacities, capabilities, and historical performance.
  • Actively mentors and develops less experienced planners, elevating team-wide technical proficiency and scheduling best practices.

  • Evaluates program scope and creates tactical schedules using scheduling systems (MS Project & Primavera P6), controlling the scope of work released to Production Control for execution.

  • When schedule recovery is necessary, identifies and analyzes solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods.
  • Works closely with production team to determine the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor, technicians and schedules work accordingly.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure production and customer specifications are accurate and production schedules are timely.
  • Champions a tool‑forward, digitally literate approach — actively seeking out and applying available software and automation (including AI) to eliminate repetitive manual work and maximize time spent on high‑impact scheduling priorities.
  • Balances rapid‑response, quick‑turnaround scheduling requests with sustained execution of longer‑range program deliverables.
  • Provides regular updates to management on upcoming production priorities.
  • Updates visual management boards with current job/program status.
  • Performs schedule and scope variance analysis and reviews MRP execution.
  • Ensures the Operations schedule, Program schedule and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) are aligned.
