Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and classifying all maintenance actions for the designated area, including activities, internal and external labor, spare parts, materials, special tools, and necessary safety and ecological instructions. The role ensures that work teams complete only the required administrative work.

Job Responsibilities
  • Verify authorization on work requests, proper information, and appropriate priority or completion date.
  • Negotiate dates with requestors when necessary.
  • Estimate required labor, prepare a list of spare parts and reference data, and anticipate other resources needed to complete jobs safely.
  • Maintain reference files for equipment specifications, spare parts, drawings, history, manuals, forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with area coordinators to develop cost‑effective plans.
  • Participate in planning equipment shutdowns for preventive or corrective maintenance.
  • Help determine critical routes, sequence of activities, total cost of shutdown, and required resources.
  • Track outage schedule and costs daily during shutdowns.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts and maintenance materials in the warehouse, preparing purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Work toward company safety goals by attending regular safety meetings.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, D.O.T., and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • 3 years of related field experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project 2013.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Conditions

Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor work. Protective equipment must be worn.

Physical Requirements

Stationary position, traversal, movement, and transport required. Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
