Job summary

Jackson County in Oregon seeks a Planner III to support the Current Planning Division. You will process planning applications, assist the public at the front counter, prepare reports, and make presentations to planning commissions and boards.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of rural and urban land use planning, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work with officials, developers and the public. A bachelor’s degree in planning and three years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in planning and three years of professional planning experience or equivalent.
• Experience with current planning processes and development proposals preferred.
• Ability to work with planning commissions, officials, the public and developers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate current planning activities and monitor division work.
• Review development proposals for compliance and feasibility.
• Assist the public at the front counter with planning inquiries.
• Prepare reports, maps, and ordinances; provide presentations as needed.
