Job summary

Colorado Network Staffing Inc. is seeking a Planner III to independently collect and manage land use, community planning, and urban design project information for a diverse program.

The role supports client and public information meetings, site visits, stakeholder interviews, and charrettes, and develops viable action alternatives and master plan narratives. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years of planning experience (community or military), and credentials

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 5+ years of community or military planning experience.
• AICP, PLA, or RA credentials.
• Master's degree in related field preferred.
• LEED Green Associate or higher. EIT credentials desired.

Responsibilities

• Independently collect, assimilate, and manage land use planning, community planning, and urban design project information.
• Prepare project requirements, constraints, and opportunity mapping and analysis.
• Assist in client and public information meetings, site visits, interviews, charrettes, and in-progress reviews.
• Prepare viable course of action alternatives and installation requirements; develop high-quality master plans and development plans.

Education

SummaryPlanner III will independently collect, assimilate, and manage land use planning, community planning, and urban design project information for the team; prepare project requirements, constraints, and opportunity mapping and required analysis; assist in the preparation for and participation in client and public information meetings, site data collection visits, stakeholder interviews, charrettes, and in-progress reviews; prepare viable courses of action alternatives for evaluation and installation requirements; and prepare high-quality illustrations and narratives for master plans and site-specific area development plans.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:The Planner II will participate in all phases of document development, apply the guidance and criteria in plan creation, prepare conference minutes, work with facility floor plans and facility category codes, and narratively and graphically apply the planning process to documents such as:Transportation Network PlansUtility Network PlansConstraints MapsCapacity PlansRegulating PlansHave working knowledge of and ability to conduct facility and infrastructure condition assessments.Develop organization requirements and develop planning documents in accordance with DoD and service-specific planning criteria.Take an active role in installation visioning and planning charrettes, prepare rough-order-of-magnitude project cost estimates for proposed solutions, and prepare an ECONPACK supported economic analysis.CompetenciesStrong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.Strong quantitative problem-solving abilities.Strong organizational and time management skills with an understanding of project timelines and deadlines.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, geography, public policy, or related area.5+ years of community OR military planning experience.AICP, PLA, or RA credentialsAdditional Eligibility RequirementsMaster's degree in related field preferred.LEED Green Associate or higher.EIT credentials desired.TravelTravel is anticipated for 1 week per month primarily in the United States.Work EnvironmentThis position will work mainly in an office setting but may be required to regularly visit construction sites across the United States, Japan, Italy, and Germany.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:Individual must be able to walk, sit, stand, and type for extended periods of timePosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position.
