Marotta Controls, Inc. in Montville, NJ is seeking a Planner II (Commercial Space Systems).

This full-time role focuses on planning and scheduling materials to support production and development work orders, managing MRP and non-MRP requirements, and ensuring timely release of work orders. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (preferred), 4+ years in planning/scheduling in fast-paced manufacturing, experience with Kanban/LEAN, MRP systems, and strong communication.

Planner II (Commercial Space Systems)

Position Profile

This position is responsible for all tasks relative to the planning and scheduling of materials and services that are required to support production and development work orders. These activities include, but are not limited to, managing work orders to support MRP and non MRP requirements, product development, follow through on all nonconforming material matters and the timely and accurate processing, follow up, rescheduling of all work orders and system maintenance.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is preferred
• Minimum 4 years planning/scheduling in fast pace mixed product manufacturing
• Experience with supporting production cells, Kanban replenishment (preferred)
• Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles, KANBAN inventory management (preferred)
• Processing of engineering change notifications
• Working knowledge of MRP systems, planning and scheduling activities
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
• Strong computer literacy, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
• Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epicor ERP Software.

Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule work orders
• Release requisitions to purchasing on a timely basis
• Manage work order material flow from inception through completion
• Manage component shortages to resolution
• Work closely with all functional areas of the business.
• Perform planning and production tasks, anticipate program needs, and expedite material and tool requirements for production, manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Responsible for developing, coordinating and communicating the daily production schedule including the creation and release of work orders.
• Schedule production factoring in work orders, maintenance, new product development, inventory availability and capacity planning.
• Measure performance of all critical factors to ensure compliance to plans to include publishing of KPI’s.
• Lead issue resolution when products are behind schedule or at risk of being behind schedule.
• Own production orders from start to finish, recording time and output and troubleshooting any discrepancies immediately with a common goal of correcting the problems.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of production orders.
• Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing and management to provide timely status of work products and / or problem identification and resolution.
• Maintain the ERP system integrity to drive material and production schedules and execute processes per requirements. Maintain ERP system parameters including material master data and performance criteria
• Own customer service performance of assigned products and resources.
• Manual planning outside of ERP

• Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
• This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
• Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 10 hours, Monday through Thursday. Extra time and weekend work are required, as job duties demand.
• Travel is not expected for this position

This Position is at our Montville, NJ Office.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000/year
