Job summary

Omega Engineering Inc. in Sunbury, OH seeks an experienced Production Scheduler to generate daily/weekly schedules balancing capacity, inventory and demand through SIOP collaboration. You will run daily MRP, issue jobs, update schedules with production and purchasing teams.

The role requires an Associate degree in business or related field, 3 years in manufacturing, advanced Excel and Power BI skills, and experience with Kanban and ERP (Syteline).

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 3 years of manufacturing/purchasing experience or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with BI systems (Power BI).
  • Lean Manufacturing experience; Kanban, VMI, Consignment, etc. preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP (Syteline preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Run daily MRP and issue jobs for manufacturing work centers per SIOP targets.
  • Create, update and maintain schedules and coordinate with production to meet demand and targets while optimizing resources.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain planning to address changes in demand/capacity.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to address material shortages and support corrective actions.
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts with stakeholders and resolve them.
  • Support Kanban replenishment for point-of-use materials.
  • Coordinate parts within plant and manage shortages across lines.
  • Provide order status updates for released jobs to customer service teams.
  • Participate in Kaizens and continuous improvement projects for scheduling processes.
  • Respond to emails for expedites or cancellations on a daily basis.

Position Summary:

This role is located in Sunbury, OH, and will be responsible for generating a daily/weekly production schedule that balances manufacturing capacity, operating efficiencies, and inventory levels based on a collaborative Sales, Inventory and Operations Plan (SIOP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Conduct daily MRP runs and issue jobs for manufacturing work centers that align with SIOP targets from corporate supply chain team.
  • Create, update and maintain schedules and work with production to meet customer demand and production targets while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Work with Supply Chain planning team to address changes in demand/capacity.
  • Work with Purchasing team to elevate material shortages and assist with developing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts with stakeholders and quickly resolve them as they arise.
  • Support Kanban replenishment process for point of use/feeder cell materials.
  • Coordinate parts within plant, from feeder cells, and coordinate shortages.
  • Provide order status updates for released jobs to customers service teams.
  • Participate in Kaizens and continuous improvement projects to improve production planning and scheduling processes.
  • On a daily basis, respond to email expedites or cancellations
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
  • Associate degree (B.A.) in Business Administration or related field (materials/production/purchasing emphasis preferable)
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing/purchasing work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with BI systems (Power BI)
  • Lean Manufacturing experience-manufacturing processes and inventory replenishment methods such as Kanban, VMI, Consignment, etc preferred
  • Experience working with ERP (Syteline Experience preferred)
