Job summary

The Town of Johnstown is seeking a Planner I to join our Planning team in Johnstown, CO. You will perform a variety of municipal planning and project management tasks, including land use planning, research, and development review, while serving the public with responsive, professional service.

Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in urban/regional planning, municipal planning or consultancy experience, strong customer service skills, and GIS/development review familiarity to contribute

The Town of Johnstown, Colorado is actively recruiting a Planner I to be part of our dynamic and passionate team. In this high-energy, high-production environment, a candidate must be eager to learn, grow as a professional and a planner. As a member of the Planning team, our Planner I performs a wide variety of municipal planning and project management functions, including land use planning, research, administration associated with development review, answers incoming daily planning questions from the public over the phone, and completes ancillary land use and development review and support functions.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in urban/regional planning or a closely-related field, experience in municipal planning or consultant work performing land-use planning or similar discipline, face-to-face customer service experience and GIS and/or development review experience.
