County of Bucks is seeking a Planner to join the Planning Administrative department. The role involves preparing planning, zoning, and GIS maps, analyzing land use data, and reviewing subdivision proposals.

You will present findings at public meetings and collaborate with municipal officials and staff. Candidates should have a planning degree, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GIS software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Planning; experience in a planning position preferred.
• AICP licensure preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in basic planning principles and ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); skills in Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp a plus.
• Reliable transportation and availability for evening meetings.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Senior Planner, Section Director, and Executive Director as applicable.
• Prepares planning, zoning, and specialized plans and studies.
• Produces GIS maps and GIS-related projects.
• Reviews land use, demographics, and related data to assess conditions and trends.
• Reviews subdivision and land development proposals and prepares comments.
• Produces graphic products including maps, sketches, 3D simulations, and site plans.
• Assists with community planning analyses and public presentations.
• Attends meetings with staff, officials, and agencies; liaises with Planning Commission and municipal officials.
• Coordinates with staff on projects and grant applications.
