Job summary

EPS Corporation is seeking a skilled Planner & Estimator to support DoD and U.S. Navy fabrication projects. The role involves reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and SOWs to develop accurate estimates and detailed production plans.

You will determine labor, materials, equipment, tooling, and time required for fabrication, welding, machining, and modification work. You will collaborate with engineers, welders, fabricators, machinists, production supervisors and procurement to build

Qualifications

• Experience developing detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, machining, assembly and repair.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, procurement and shop personnel to establish labor standards and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specs, SOWs, and CDRLs to determine project requirements.
• Develop detailed estimates for labor hours, materials, equipment, tooling and direct costs.
• Perform material take-offs and determine quantities of metals and fabrication materials.
• Estimate labor requirements for welding, fabrication, machining, assembly, installation and inspection.
• Develop detailed job plans, work packages, and production sequences.
• Coordinate with shop personnel to establish realistic labor standards and production requirements.
• Research pricing and lead times with procurement for current pricing.
• Identify long-lead materials and equipment requirements.
• Develop estimates for new fabrication, repair, modification, or maintenance projects.
• Track changes in scope and revise estimates accordingly.

EPS Corporation is looking for a skilledPlanner/Estimator supports DoD and U.S. Navy fabrication projects by reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, statements of work, technical requirements, and customer requirements to develop accurate estimates and detailed production plans. This position evaluates project scope and determines the labor, materials, equipment, tooling, and time required to complete fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, repair, and modification work.

The Planner/Estimator works closely with engineers, welders, fabricators, machinists, production supervisors, project managers, procurement personnel, and government customers to develop work packages, establish labor-hour estimates, identify required materials, and ensure work can be completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, SOWs, CDRLs, and work instructions to determine project requirements.
• Develop detailed estimates for labor hours, materials, equipment, tooling, subcontractor support, and other direct costs.
• Perform material take-offs and determine quantities of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, pipe, plate, structural shapes, fasteners, welding consumables, coatings, and other fabrication materials.
• Estimate labor requirements for welding, fabrication, machining, fitting, assembly, installation, inspection, testing, and repair activities.
• Develop detailed job plans, work packages, production sequences, and estimated completion schedules.
• Review drawings and specifications for fabrication requirements, tolerances, dimensions, weld symbols, materials, and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate with shop personnel to establish realistic labor standards and production requirements.
• Research material and subcontractor pricing and coordinate with procurement to obtain current pricing and lead times.
• Identify long-lead materials, specialty tooling, equipment requirements, and potential production constraints.
• Develop estimates for new fabrication, repair, modification, overhaul, and maintenance projects.
• Review existing work packages and historical production data to improve future labor and material estimates.
• Track changes in scope and provide revised estimates when drawings, specifications, or customer requirements change.
